U Tube batteries
These units provide protection from stresses induced by expansion. Plain and high performance finned tube exchangers are available. Both the primary inlet and outlet connections of the U tube battery are positioned at the same end of the heat exchanger.
Straight tube
These units provide the maximum number of tubes for a given shell diameter. Fixed tube-sheets as well as floating headers are available. Fixed tube-sheet designs are fitted with shell expansion bellows where necessary.
Tube in tube
These units provide extremely long thermal lengths for close approach or cross over temperature designs. High viscous fluids can also be accommodated, generally this type of unit is long when compared with the outside diameter of the exchanger shell (60:1).
