Ormandy offer a wide range of control panels. Panels are designed and manufactured at the Ormandy factory in Halifax, England. The panels utilise modern control techniques ensuring our customers receive high quality, easy to use systems.
Control method
For electrically heated calorifiers and flow heaters the heat input is initiated by a thermostat immersed in the water to be heated. Once activated the control panel will energise the available stages until the set point temperature is reached. Stages are switched on in timed sequence to ensure smooth immersion heater loading.
Safety is paramount for electric water heaters, all Ormandy control systems are fitted with independent high temperature cut out devices. A low water cut out system is also fitted to protect the immersion heater from being energised whilst the calorifier is empty.
For special applications thyristor controls are available utilising three-term control loops. Refer to the Ormandy electrical design department for further details.
